BRAND NEW VERSION FOLLOWING CUSTOMER REQUESTS
The original version of our Defender Rear Recovery Point has been a popular hit over the years but we've caved in and produced a vertical version which works in the exact way with the very subtle difference to the recovery eye.....it's VERTICAL! Ground breaking we know!
Made from lasercut 10mm steel our vertical rear recovery point for Land Rover Defenders is extremely durable and strong.
No modification to the vehicle is necessary, the recovery point picks up on the existing captive bolts in the crossmember.
Early model Defenders may not have the captive nuts in the crossmember but will have the holes. If this is the case for you then we'll shortly be adding a spreader plate and extended bolts to tackle this. In the meantime if you get in touch with us we can give you an idea when these will be available to ship.
Later Defenders including 300TDI, TD5 and TDCI (Puma) models will have the captive nuts and can be ordered normally.
We supply all required hardware in A4 stainless, these are equivalent rating to the 8.8 grade mild steel bolts that are used as standard in the crossmember for towbar installation.
Please note, you will need a 12mm allen key and 14mm allen key to fit this.
Both versions are now finished with a textured 2K topcoat. The reason for this topcoat is this product is a high contact item and, with the best will in the world, the paint is likely to chip and wear with normal use. The 2K topcoat is much easier to touch up.
There are now 2 versions available for this product, both are extremely strong and durable.
- Steel Version - Fully welded 10mm thick mild steel, gold zinc plated then primed and finished with a textured 2K black topcoat.
- 304 Stainless Steel - Fully welded 10mm thick 304 stainless steel and finished with a textured 2K black topcoat
