Our same 2.2 TDCI fuel cooler guard....now in stainless steel.....and for the same price as the original zinc plated steel version.
When Land Rover introduced the TDCI engines to the Defender in 2007 they mounted a fuel cooler on the inside of the chassis rail beneath the engine bay which is a vulnerable area to stones, debris etc.
Land Rover then introduced the 2.2 TDCI and eventually moved the cooler away from this location (we say eventually as we have seen some 2.2 models that still have the cooler there).
Now, despite moving the cooler, the pipework still passes through this area which again is nice and vulnerable to those venturing off road and any damage to this area could certainly end up in some tears and naughty loud words being said......
....so we have designed a very simple guard which encloses the area from getting caught, hit etc by large items. We have made the guard open enough that small stones, mud, dirt, water etc that won't pose any destruction to the pipework can pass through freely.
The guard is made from 2mm corrosion resistant stainless steel, and is supplied with all stainless hardware.
The guard is simple enough to be fitted by almost anyone in under half an hour.
