Part of our Discovery 2 speaker solution are these AP-1 based tweeter mounts for the A-pillar in Discovery 2 vehicles.
Some Discovery 2 vehicles had tweeters in the A-Pillar trim either side of the windscreen.
Our kit allows connection to existing tweeter wires if a tweeter was fitted at upper level and also allows connection via the head unit speaker wires if tweeters were not fitted and no wires exist.
There are two variations of the kit, the difference is the actual A-Pillar trim itself. NOT the vehicle, as some people may want to source new A-Pillar trim and it's really upto you if you want the OEM look behind the original tweeter grille or if you want your fancy new tweeter on show.
A-Pillar trim with factory tweeter kit
Includes:
- 2 x Audison AP-1 Tweeters with optional crossover, oem style with no grille (uses original trim grille)
- 2 x FAR Discovery 2 A-Pillar speaker mount for AP-1
- 2 x components for connection to existing wires.
- 2 x components for connection to head unit speaker wires.
Additional tools/supplies required:
- Trim tools (optional but makes the job easier, some trim comes off easy, some puts up a fight)
- Epoxy glue or hot-glue.....this is to bond the speaker mount to the rear of the pillar, either work great but Epoxy such as "Araldite" work best.
Blank A-Pillar trim without factory tweeter kit
Includes:
- 2 x Audison AP-1 Tweeters with optional crossover.
- 2 x components for connection to existing wires.
- 2 x components for connection to head unit speaker wires.
- 1 x hole saw
Additional tools/supplies required:
- Trim tools (optional but makes the job easier, some trim comes off easy, some puts up a fight)
